Port Vale: McDonald goes out on loan
PORT Vale defender Clayton McDonald has been allowed to join League Two rivals Bristol Rovers on loan.
The giant 24-year-old will stay at the Memorial Ground until the end of the season.
Vale have a clause in place which means they could recall the 6ft 6in centre-half after the first 28 days of the loan spell if required.
McDonald, who is out of contract at the end of the season, has played 26 times for Vale this season.

He arrived at Vale Park in July, 2011 and has made a total of 59 appearances for the club, including 26 this season.

“Good luck Clayton. Anyone who's played for Vale from the start of the season, with all the contract uncertainty and unpaid salaries deserves to be remembered fondly. Hopefully he can prevent the Gills of the league from scoring and help us with promotion, and further his own career.”

“Lets hope we have no further injuries or suspensions in the central defence area!!”

“Good Luck Clayton, served Vale well in the early part of the season - very solid partnership with Boom Boom John McCoombe, but a very rocky game against Fleetwood looked like being his last appearence in a Vale shirt.
With a bit of luck some inspired performances against our promotion rivals will prove to be a good bit of business, as I doubt he would feature in the Vale squad next year.
I'm presuming there is a clause that prevents him playing against us in March - which not only (obviously) prevents any conflict of interest, but should also unsettle BR's team by having to shuffle the defence (presuming that he is good enough to hold his place)?
Onwards and upwards!”
