Port Vale: McCombe backing for Anyon
DEFENDER John McCombe has appealed to Vale fans not to turn on keeper Joe Anyon after his error gift-wrapped Cheltenham Town's equaliser in Saturday's 1-1 draw.
McCombe's ninth-minute goal was cancelled out when Anyon's poor punch allowed Medy Elito to score from close range just before the break.

SUPPORT: Defender John McCombe has urged Port Vale fans to stay behind Joe Anyon.
It was the 23-year-old's second error in four games after his dropped cross led to Northampton Town scoring a second goal in their 3-1 win at Vale Park earlier this month.
McCombe said: "Obviously Joe made a mistake and it cost us a goal, but outfield players make lots of mistakes which don't get punished.
"The fans have to stay behind Joe because getting on his back isn't going to help him, the team or anyone."
Anyon partially redeemed himself by producing an excellent second-half save to deny Matt Thornhill.
But Vale are now five points adrift of the play-off zone after dropping to 11th ahead of Saturday's derby with Crewe.
Manager Micky Adams refused to comment on Anyon's mistake or give any clues as to whether he intends to recall keeper Chris Martin.
STRIKER James Lawrie has returned to Vale after a one-month loan at Kidderminster.
The Blue Square Premier side are keen to extend the 19-year-old's loan spell after he impressed at Aggborough.

“Put Chris Martin back in goal!, hes a much better keeper, and joe just simply isnt good enough, you can say his last 2 mistakes could of cost us 4 points, which could put us in the playoff positions , and we are meant to keep anyon in goal and risk more dropped points?? put chris back in, problem solved.”
