Port Vale: Lee Hughes loan deal falls through over paperwork submission
PORT Vale's loan swoop for Notts County striker Lee Hughes has fallen through.
Paperwork on deadline-day deals for both Hughes and another player was not submitted to the Football League in time.
"These deals were put together very late in the day and we were working to an extremely tight schedule," said a club spokesman. "Unfortunately, due to a number of circumstances, the club missed the Football League deadline by three minutes."
Vale did complete a deal for central defender Liam Chilvers yesterday and he will be in the squad to play Aldershot tomorrow.
