Port Vale: Dons pulling out all the stops for Vale clash
AFC WIMBLEDON say they're doing all they can to make sure tomorrow night's game against Port Vale gets the green light.
A team of volunteers have moved in to help clear the pitch of snow, and more help is expected throughout the day.
Around 20 to 30 helpers turned out with shovels this morning and the club's youth squad will join the effort this afternoon, when the numbers are expected to swell to around 50 or 60.
"The good news is that where the snow has been cleared, the grass is quite soft and doesn't look frozen," said a club spokesman.

"We're working hard all day and we'll put the covers on tonight, once the snow is cleared, in a bid to prevent the frost.
"We're in the hands of the elements, of course, but we're hoping for the best."
The Dons are doubly keen to get the game on as Sky television cameras are due at Kingsmeadow.
A final decision is likely to be left until tomorrow morning at the earliest, with no pitch inspection planned as yet.

“Sounds like a grerat effort by the Wimbledon club and loyal fans. Well done to all no matter what the outcome of the game being playable. To me this is what football's all about fans getting stuck in for the local club.
I know they have undersoil heating but I can't imagine the prawn sandwich brigade at the Chelseas and Arsenals getting stuck in like this.”

“Commendable efforts by Wimbledon, I hope every effort will be made to get an early decision for the sake of those intending to travel. For me, very selfishly, this is my closest Vale game of the season, but as I have to work - a postponement would be welcome.”
