Midfielder Ross Davidson has agreed to sign a new one-year deal with the Port Vale.

The 18-year-old’s existing one-year contract will expire at the end of the month.

However, he has now agreed to sign a fresh one-year contract after committing his future to the club by post.

Davidson, from Uttoxeter, graduated through the club’s youth ranks and has made 28 appearances for the senior side.

Defenders Luke Prosser and Paul Edwards, who can also play at left midfield, have yet to decide whether to commit their futures to the club after being offered one-year deals.

Vale have also released their pre-season fixture programme. They will play the following teams:

Saturday July 11: Biddulph Victoria (away), kick-off, 12pm.

Tuesday July 14: Telford (away), kick-off, 7:45pm.

Saturday July 18: Newcastle Town (away), kick-off, 2:30pm.

Wednesday July 22: Wolves (home) kick-off, 7:30pm.

Saturday July 25 v Stafford Rangers (away), kick-off, 3pm.

Wednesday July 29: West Brom (home), kick-off, 7:30pm.

Saturday August 1: Kidderminster Harriers (away), kick-off, 3pm.

Tuesday August 4: Nantwich Town (away), kick-off, 7:30pm.
