SHAREHOLDERS will get the chance to oust Vale's board at an Extraordinary General Meeting next month....on the same day as the club's AGM.

Solicitors George Green announced the Tuesday, March 13 date in an e-mail to the supporters' club yesterday.

The EGM and AGM will be run as one meeting and will include all the resolutions submitted by the supporters' club and the board.

The agenda will include resolutions calling on shareholders to remove directors Perry Deakin, Mike Lloyd, Peter Miller and Glenn Oliver and replace them with an interim body.

Vale have yet to reveal what they will add to the agenda. But with its constitution requiring a minimum of four directors, the club is likely to put at least two candidates up for election to replace Oliver and Deakin, who are both committed to stepping down.

It is understood shareholders will be asked to vote on all of the resolutions at the same time at the EGM.

Vale must give the club's 900-plus shareholders at least 14 days' notice of the EGM, though a time for the meeting has yet to be announced.

Supporters' club chairman Pete Williams said: "I'm pleased the club have had the sense to finally call the EGM.

"Now I would urge all shareholders to support our resolutions.

"Due to the board's bad management, which means the club's finances are so tight, we requested the EGM take place on the same day as the AGM to save costs."

Interim board candidates include Williams, plus former directors Mike Thompstone and Paul Humphreys.

The other candidates are former Vale marketing director Margaret Sinstadt, Newcastle accountant Nick Regnauld and Sentinel advert-ising director Lyn Rowe.

The six candidates are due to answer questions from fans when the supporters' club hold their latest meeting at Smallthorne Victory WMC tonight (7.30pm).

“MC and Sims are as anathema to some supporters as much as the board. We are moving into dangerous times, There will be much behind the scenes skullduggery in the coming days, I genuinely hope the board is kicked out BUT I am still highly suspicious of MO's motives. Lets all hope that the new board will be there for genuine reasons, the finances will be investigated and sorted, Chatterly Whitfield training ground is started and completed and more importantly we get promotion.”

“dandruff. You have a fair point regarding shareholders on-going involvement with the club. Please bring this to the EGM as a requirement (through the SC if possible).
If we are not in admin at the time then this would be a negotiating point with a potential controlling owner.
The role of the interim board will be to negotiate the best deal for the club / shareholders. Putting the club into admin, as VFR suggests, is NOT an option for the Interim Board. They cannot wipe the value of the shareholding (which admin does). This is completely contrary to their purpose - and I suspect a few shareholders would rightly be seeking financial retribution!
They will be looking to protect shareholders. So your suggestion, dandruff, should be made loud and clear.”

No use in complaining about deleted posts. Call people directors of Port Vale "scum" and you can post all day. Talk about inciting violence.”

I hope you have read and understood Stgeorge comment because it makes a lot more sense than yours
    Dandruff
It has taken considerable effort from genuine ,caring supporters to be able to call the EGM.
    It has not just happened.”

“stgeorge1st : If you are correct about supporters having no say there would not be an EGM to make any changes you may wish for.”

“diasalo, the supporters have no say now under the current regime . as for selling the ground ? who to and what as ? STOP SCAREMONGERING IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN.

if the club goes into admin it will be down to mismanagement by both the previous and current board no one else . as for anyone picking up the club for a tenner ? that would have to be the judgement of the administrator not one external individual YET AGAIN SCAREMONGERING .

your slating of mark sims is unjustified as believe it or not he has just helped save 100 local jobs by rescuing his old company , mark ran it successfully before and i am sure will do so again under his sole guidance.

    laythevale,
its a pity that the vale board didn't listen to fans months ago and the club would not be in this state now. we are where we are and all we can hope for is victory at the egm so we can begin to rebuild our club (admin or not). as for hmrc demanding their money , as far as we know they have been paid to date ? otherwise they would have petitioned a winding up order ? there's always time i guess .

    MOLD OUT .

    VALE TILL I DIE.”
