Port Vale: Collins set for Cobblers
FORMER Port Vale defender Lee Collins looks set to sign for Northampton Town.
The 24-year-old, whose contract was cancelled by Barnsley last week, is expected to join the Cobblers within days, having spent time on trial with the club.
"We had a look at Lee the other day and I like him," said boss Aidy Boothroyd.
"If you're going to be successful and get out of the division at the right end then you've got to get players in who are better than the level you are at.

"Lee certainly is that and we'll be looking at doing something with him in the next couple of days."
Collins, who can play at centre-half or left-back, spent four years at Vale Park.
He joined intially on loan from Wolves in 2008 and signed permanently for the club in January, 2009.
He went on to make 163 appearances before leaving to join Barnsley, initially on loan, in March last year.
But Collins made only four starts at Oakwell and spent two months on loan at League One Shrewsbury earlier this season.
