Port Vale: Chris Shuker nets last-minute winner in reserve team thriller
CHRIS Shuker's last-minute winner earned Port Vale reserves a 4-3 victory at Wrexham in their Central League West Division clash yesterday.
The Valiants looked on course for a comfortable afternoon at Wrexham's Collier Park training ground after moving 3-0 ahead.
Rob Taylor, Ollie Marland and Shuker had given Vale a firm grip on proceedings, but they were pegged back to 3-3.
However, Shuker struck again in the closing stages to pocket the points for Rob Page's side.

"It was an entertaining game between two sides who both wanted to attack," said Page.
"It was good to see Joe Davis and Ryan Lloyd get a game under their belts following injury, and they will benefit from that.
"Chris Shuker had a really good game besides his two goals and I was pleased with the attitude of all of the professional players."
Tom Morris struck the crossbar and Chris Birchall saw an effort save by keeper Louis Gray as the visitors dominated the first half.
But they had to wait until shortly before the interval to make the breakthrough.
In the 44th minute, Taylor broke clear on the left and fired past Gray.
And moments later, trialist Jack Hendry, who has been released by Peterborough, set up Marland to net.
Shuker grabbed his first goal of the afternoon in the 53rd minute when he converted Lloyd's cross, but that strike sparked a Wrexham recovery.
Two minutes later, Nick Rushton steered a loose ball beyond Vale keeper Ryan Boot, and just past the hour-mark the same player repeated the trick.
The sides were level midway through the half when James Colbeck latched on to a long throw which caused panic in the Valiants' defence.
But they regained their composure and sealed the spoils in the final minute when Shuker rounded off a fine run from Lloyd.
