Port Vale: Adams pleased with team's efforts
VALE boss Micky Adams was pleased with his side’s efforts at Burton this afternoon despite watching them fall to their first defeat in seven games.
Brewers midfielder Jacques Maghoma scored the game’s only goal five minutes before the break. His winner destroyed Vale’s chances of extending their unbeaten league away run to nine games.
But Adams said: “In terms of their application to the game I don’t think anybody can fault them.
“I don’t think that can ever be questioned.
“Did we do enough to get something out of the game? On chances created, yes, because there was very little in it.
“We gave away a sloppy goal in the first half from a throw in. Both sides had chances but I felt we had the better ones.
“But it was a case of two honest hardworking teams cancelling each other out.”
Adams has also missed out on the Football League’s Manager of the Month award for January.
The accolade was awarded to Northampton boss Ian Sampson.
