POLICE are trying to trace a handbag containing potentially dangerous prescription drugs.

A black leather Radley handbag was stolen from a house in Arbour Street, Talke, at some time between 9.30pm on Thursday and 7.30am yesterday.

It contained a small brown bottle of Mercaptopurine, which is used to treat Crohn's disease.

The tablets are dangerous if taken by anyone who is not suffering from that disease.

If anyone finds the handbag or the drugs, they are asked to contact Staffordshire Police on 0300 123 4455.
