Police target Ford Green and Smallthorne youngsters after spate of fires

COMMUNITY police teams in Ford Green and Smallthorne say they have identified a number of youngsters responsible for starting fires in the area.

Police have confirmed that a number of youngsters have received anti-social behaviour contracts, while further evidence is being gathered for anti-social behaviour orders against two persistent offenders.

A statement in the Ford Green and Smallthorne police newsletter this months reads: “We have identified many of the youngsters who have been involved.

“They have had letters sent to their home addresses to inform parents of their behaviour.

Residents are also being urged to report any continued activity to the police on 101.

    “What's the point of reporting activity when there's NO PUNISHMENT? Do the police seriously think that sending a letter to parents will solve this???????????? These kids do it for one reason, and one reason only, BECAUSE THEY CAN WITHOUT ANY FEAR OF PUNISHMENT!”
