Police caution for Weston Coyney councillor Matt Fry over fraud 'by abuse of position'
A SUSPENDED city councillor has been formally cautioned by police for fraud.
Labour councillor Matt Fry was arrested by officers before receiving a caution for fraud 'by abuse of position'.

The 32-year-old member for Weston Coyney faces no further criminal proceedings but questions remain over his political future.
Stoke-on-Trent City Council said the offence does not relate directly to his work as a councillor.

“The "abuse of position" is that he only got a caution! I`ve heard that apparently he paid the money back so that`s why it was only a caution, remember that if you get caught after robbing a bank ! I feel sorry for the decent hard working councillors who are in danger of being tarred with the same brush as the likes of Fry who have`nt got the decency to tender their resignation after being caught or even appologise.”
