GRAMMY award winning singer Pink is set to play a concert at Alton Towers.

The 30-year-old performer, real name Alecia Beth Moore, will appear at the theme park on Sunday, June 27.

The Alton Towers gig is part of the American artist's Funhouse tour, which takes in venues across the UK.

The concert will be the first to be hosted at the resort since the late 1990s, when it played host to artists such as James, Wet Wet Wet, M People and Tina Turner.

There are just under 30,000 tickets available for the concert, which will take place on the front lawn.

Tickets are priced at £45 and can be booked as a combined theme park pass for £63.

“You missed out the first one they did, Chris De Burg, in the late summer of 1990, sould have been three night but had to pull out of the First. His back went, the man did the other two nights with a body belt on, but pulled off cracking shows. James were good to, and Tina Turner, well she was Tina Turner, anoying as hell, but entertaining. Missed Wet Wet Wet, and you would need a lot of money to get me to see M People, they were just rubbish. Anyway, Pink, might just stump up the cash.”
