A PENSIONER was taken to hospital after she was hit by a car.

The 84-year-old pedestrian was knocked over in Blurton Road in Blurton at around 11am yesterday.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "The pedestrian was treated at the scene for head and shoulder injuries. She was immobilised using a spinal board and neck collar before being taken to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire for further assessment."
