Parking woe for families near hospital
MORE spaces could be created in a street after residents complained about not being able to park outside their homes.
Housing association Stafford and Rural Homes (SARH) is considering the option after some residents complained about parking problems in Knight Avenue, Stafford.
Part-time parking restrictions were introduced in the street in 1984 to try to stop staff and visitors at Stafford Hospital parking in the street all day.
A spokesman for Staffordshire County Council, which has received a petition from residents, said: "It is felt that should the restrictions be removed then all-day parking by non-residents will again become an issue, possibly more seriously than at the present time.
"One option that would lessen the problem would be the forming of new and additional off-street parking areas.
"To support this the council's parking manager will contact SARH and indicate the benefit of additional off-street parking."
