Park assault on teenager
A TEENAGE girl was pulled to the floor and indecently assaulted in Central Forest Park.
The 18-year-old was walking along a path heading out of the park towards Sneyd Street when the incident happened at 1.45pm on Monday.
She was walking along a path heading out of the park, towards Sneyd Street, when a youth followed her and tried to engage her in conversation.
As the offender got close to the victim he grabbed her and pulled her to the floor, but she managed to escape and run off.
Police say two young girls walked past the victim and offender, and an elderly couple were also in the area just before the attack.
Detectives are appealing for these witnesses, and anyone else who was in the area at the time, to come forward.
The offender is described as Asian, 5ft 6in tall, aged 16 to 18 and wearing a dark-coloured tracksuit top and bottoms. He was carrying a blue umbrella and spoke with a local accent.
Officers have checked CCTV footage in the area, and carried out house to house enquiries.
