MUMS and dads have been invited to learn more about proposals for an academy.

Blurton High School is staging a public meeting today, from 4.30pm until 9pm, to talk about the Building Schools for the Future proposals.

The school is being replaced by an academy as part of a £250 million scheme to change the face of education in the Potteries.

The city will get five new academies, including one at Blurton, which will replace the existing high school.

Also, every high school and special school in the city will either be rebuilt or refurbished.

As well as representatives from the school, spokesmen from the project's sponsor, the Ormiston Trust, and strategic partner Keele University will be available to talk to parents.
