Olympics boosts economy
STRONG Olympic Games ticket sales helped the UK exit the longest double-dip recession since the Second World War.
The Office for National Statistics confirmed a return to growth of one per cent following a 0.4 per cent contraction in GDP in the previous period.
That was higher than analysts had expected and the strongest quarter of GDP growth for five years meaning the economy has grown 0.3 per cent so far this year but is still 3.1 per cent below its peak in the first quarter of 2008.

“It matters little what I think Redtone.
You are too blindly in love with Labour that you point blank refuse to see the true picture.
Labour are first up to condemn the Tories when the facts and figures tell us we are all doomed, but the new figures tell us of no recession and a stock market both sides of the pond going skywards.
Of course, it won't be good enough for Ed 'deficit denier' Balls.
But it keeps us amused watching him lose it on TV while Osborne ribs him to death.”

“I'm sorry but you've confused me... are you still saying Osborne's methods are working? You seem to have strayed given an opportunity to rip in to Labour...
If you are saying Osborne's methods are working, I'll meet you here in 2015.”

“Now there you go again.
I offer a neutral view and you feel insulted because I refuse to excuse Labour.
Of course, I would act differently if I were the Chancellor.
In fact:
I wrote it in 2010 in my manifesto and I'll give odds that Ed Balls will copy part of it for Labour's 2015 election manifesto.
They won't include my solution for elderly care, but that is because they have no guts and want privatisation instead (some socialism).
Now remember Redtone, I have a long memory and Labour WILL copy the worst ever manifesto (from Stoke-on-Trent) and written by the worst politician we never had.
Easyy peasy but Labour is oh, so behind.
Very yesterday.”

“Osborne's plan is working? That is nonsense even by mole10's low standards!
We don't get an Olympics every quarter. I know he never lets an opportunity to knock Labour pass him by - but is mole10 actually suggesting our economy is on the up? That people are feeling confident? I take it we don't need austerity anymore?
A quick quiz for Gary Elsby - the worst MP Stoke never had : Germany, Italy, France, Japan, USA, UK - which of these six developed nations has the lowest debt as a proportion of GDP?
They are cutting because they want to and anyone who claims to be a socialist and supports them is a class TRAITOR!”

“The problems for Cameron now become intense.
Will he make history, and prove that his economic plan for the Country is wrong, by entering a triple dip sometime soon?
A double dip is acceptable (is it?) but a triple dip will say something.
Labour must now accept that the economy is growing and Osborne's plan is working.”
