BMX favourite Shanaze Reade will have to wait 24 hours before she gets her shot at a gold medal.

Heavy rain meant the track in Laoshan, south-west Beijing was too dangerous to use.

The 19-year-old double world champion, from Crewe, will now go in the second semi-final at 9.30am (2.30am BST) tomorrow.

Reade had a nasty fall in her first seeding run, but recovered to post the second quickest time in the qualifying session so was able to get first pick of the starting gates in her semi.
