Nostalgia letter: I see myself aged 15 in Johnsons Factory girls photo

This is Staffordshire

MADAM, – Seeing the photo of the Johnsons Factory girls printed in All Our Yesterdays on Saturday, February 6, pictured above, brought back memories.

I worked there from 1948 until 1960 and remember several of the women on the picture.

My sister, Francis Smith (née Davies) can be seen at the front right of the table and directly behind her (on the next table wearing glasses) is me, Betty Taylor (née Davies).

Sitting to my sister's left is Rita Turner and next to her is Jean Simpson. Elsie Malkin is next on the left and between her and Jean (on the table behind) is Joyce Vaughan.

Kathy Hall can be seen behind Elsie wearing glasses, and Brenda Davies is sitting on the front left. I also think Doris Tellwright in on the photo, sitting on the far right wearing a coat.

I hope other readers will remember more names and faces. I would have been 15.
