Nostalgia Letter
MADAM, – I am writing with reference to Irene Whitehead's photos and letter on February 20 regarding Bullers in Milton.
I was thrilled to see my grandmother in the photo of the fettling shop.
Her name was Ada Sherratt and, according to my dad, she worked in the press shop for some years before her death in 1956.
I have enclosed two more shop floor photos, as well as one showing Ada sitting on the wall outside Bullers.
On the first shop floor photo she is sitting on the far right of the middle row, below, and on the other, above, she is the lady sitting on the bench in centre.
I have no idea of any names except the boss Jim Smith, as Irene mentioned.
I would love to hear from anyone who knows more.
CLAIRE SINGLETON (née Sherratt)
