North Staffordshire travel updates: Motorists urged to take caution on icy roads

MOTORISTS are being met with icy conditions this morning, after freezing overnight temperatures.

The wintry conditions come after a morning of snow yesterday, which saw as much as six centimetres (close to two inches) fall in parts of North Staffordshire.

Temperatures are predicted to stay low today, with more overnight frost and ice predicted throughout the week- despite clear conditions.

Gritters treated all of the A and B roads in Stoke-on-Trent last night and emergency services have urged drivers to take care during the morning rush hour.
