STRIPES: TV'S Nick Hancock officially opened Stone Music Festival and collected a cheque for his chosen charity.

As he opened the four-day festival last night he paid tribute to the work of North Staffordshire Special Adventure Playground for which he is patron.

He collected a cheque for £250 from the festival organising committee on the charity's behalf.

And the avid Stoke City fan was delighted by the appearance of The Quartz Quartet with their classical version of Delilah.

Nick said: “People in Stone go to a lot of trouble to set up festivals. It was excellent to see the quartet - they were fantastic.”

“It's a great pleasure to have been here today.”

Stone town mayor Mark Green said: “It's wonderful to have Nick Hankcock here and to help the charity.”
