Newcastle man in critical condition after A53 Baldwins Gate crash
A MAN suffered serious head injuries in a crash on the A53 at Baldwins Gate this morning.
The 53-year-old man from Newcastle was taken to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire after his blue Peugeot 206 and a blue Volkswagen Touareg were involved in a collision at around 7.30am.

He is in a critical condition.
The road was closed between the Swan With Two Necks pub and the junction with Hollybush Lane for more than four hours.
The driver of the Volkswagen, also a man in his 50's from Newcastle, was uninjured.
Witnesses are asked to contact Sgt Ian Revans at Staffordshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 94 of January 30.
