A BOUNDARY wall is set to be built around a primary school in the heart of a clearance area.

Social landlord Sanctuary Midlands Housing Association wants to build the wall and railings around St Luke's Primary, in Hanley.

The wall will follow similar designs to those already in place in other parts of the City Waterside regeneration area.

A housing association spokesman said: "This regeneration scheme has seen partial clearance of housing stock but also environmental and housing works.

"It is part of this environmental programme that we seek approval for a replacement boundary wall to the school.

"We hope the improvement to this boundary has a small but far-reaching effect on the local environmental qualities of the area."

A decision on the planning application lodged with Stoke-on-Trent City Council should be made within weeks.
