THE group about to take over the NHS in Newcastle and the Staffordshire Moorlands has appointed a vice-chairman.

Naomi Chambers, professor of health management at Manchester Business School, is already a lay board member of North Staffordshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG).

The GP-led CCG has been created to replace the primary care trust in April.

Mrs Chambers, aged 55, has lived in the Staffordshire Moorlands for the past 25 years.

She was also a lay director on the PCT which will be scrapped under Government health reforms. She will work with chairman Mark Shapley, a Newcastle family doctor.
