New centre for flu drugs
SWINE flu treatment drugs are being distributed from a new collection point in Stafford.
South Staffordshire Primary Care Trust (PCT) has opened an Anti-viral Collection Point where patients will be referred to if they need to access medication.
It is based in the pharmacy at Asda, on Queensway. The centre brings the total number in South Staffordshire to 17.
John Wicks, flu director for South Staffordshire PCT, said: "We would urge patients to ask a relative, neighbour or friend to be their 'flu friend', someone who would collect medication on their behalf."
The collection point is open Monday to Fridays 8am to 11pm, Saturdays 7am to 10pm and Sundays 10am to 4pm.
Anyone suspecting that they have swine flu should stay at home, check their symptoms at www.nhs.uk or contact the swine flu information line for the latest advice on 0800 1 513 513 or the National Flu Service on 0800 1 513 100.
