Netball: Fenton girls closing in on champs Newcastle
FENTON Manor A have closed the gap on perennial champions Newcastle Town A to three points in the Stoke-on-Trent Winter League.
Fenton made it four wins from their first six games when they clinched a thriller with Clearways 31-28 to climb to second in the table.
Castle, however, remain the only side to boast a 100 per cent record and they will play their game in hand when they take on last year's runners-up, Tean Valley 1, on Monday.
Tean, who have conceded only 73 goals in their first five games, showed they have found their form by trouncing Harriers B 57-8 to rise to fifth.

It was Harriers B's fifth successive defeat and they continue to prop up the top flight standings.
NEWCASTLE have climbed to fifth in a congested top half of the West Midlands Regional League.
Castle pulled no punches in a 48-25 victory over bottom side Elmdon last weekend and face sixth-placed Tibberton Star today.
Saracens are top on goal average after six wins in their opening seven fixtures, just edging ahead of Parkside.
