NHS dentists in fresh talks
DENTISTS in North Staffordshire will be told about the future of NHS provision in the area at a conference tonight.
Details of plans to try to improve access to state dentistry will be discussed at the meeting in the Moat House hotel, Etruria, which is one of three being staged across the West Midlands during the month.
And the meeting comes after heath bosses locally have been left baffled that, although there are more places available at Stoke-on-Trent surgeries than for a decade, too few patients are coming forward to fill them.
The agenda will include an overview of individual projects planned for the region, details of how the extra capacity will be laid on and a question and answer session for potential providers.
The event is aimed at all organisations or practices which may have an interest in tendering for the services.

“NHS Dentistry has become a "political football" and who suffers in the end, the tax-paying public do, who despite paying taxes to support this system are denied access to a basic service to promote their good health and well-bieng which a fundemental right of all human beings.”

“People need a dentist close to home, not over the other side of the city. Perhaps these dentists are too far away to travel too, especially if you work and have to catch a bus.”
