NHS CUTS: Re: Secretarial job losses in the NHS (March 17). A couple of days ago I had to accompany a relative to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire.

We went to reception where two young women sat behind the desk chatting. Before attending to us they finished their conversation which was nothing to do with their job.

We were in the department for about an hour and in all that time I saw them check in two patients and doing nothing in between.

Does it take two people to do this or is one just for company? Yes I think savings can and should be made.
