Musical youth hit all the right notes
Laura Conroy, aged 15, from St Peter's High School in Penkhull, said: "I am playing the flute with the Stoke-on-Trent City Wind Orchestra. I started playing the flute six years ago and really enjoy it. I enjoy music in general."
Juliana Day, aged 15, from St Margaret Ward Catholic School and Arts College in Tunstall, said: "I am playing the oboe with the Stoke-on-Trent City Wind Orchestra today. I think the event is a good idea as it will educate other young people about taking up an instrument."
Emily Mills, aged eight, from Grove Junior School in Northwood, said: "I am singing with Stoke-on-Trent City Songbirds. I like singing because I like the rhythm. I like the actions we do with the songs."
Molly Davies, aged seven, from Saint Filumena's Catholic Primary School in Caverswall said: "I have come along to watch. I am excited about seeing the show. We are going to take part in the audience."
Camille Hargreaves, aged seven, of May Bank Infants School in May Bank, said: "I am looking forward to watching the show. I am a member of the choir at school. I like singing because it makes me happy."
