A trial has begun for a 34-year-old accused of stabbing a Sikh man to death in the street.

Lee Shaw, of Community Drive, Smallthorne, is alleged to have murdered 29-year-old Dalbagh

Singh Malhi in an unprovoked attack in the early hours of May 13 last

year.

On Monday Stafford Crown Court heard how Shaw had been at a house party when he

attacked Mr Malhi with a kitchen knife in Wellfield road, stabbing him several

times.

Shaw denies murder, claiming he stabbed Mr Malhi in self defence.
