MOTHER-OF-FOUR Tina Rogerson has been fined after she assaulted a police officer in the execution of his duty.

The 28-year-old, of Linehouses Caravan Site, in Boathorse Road, Goldenhill, swiped the officer across the face when she intervened as the officer went to arrest her relative.

Prosecutor Andrew Bodger yesterday told North Staffordshire magistrates the officer received a scratch to the left side of his face.

Rogerson pleaded guilty to assaulting a police officer in the execution of his duty on December 8.

Magistrates fined the defendant £90 and told her to pay a £20 surcharge, £85 costs and £50 compensation to the officer.
