A CHILDREN'S hospice is looking for volunteers to fund-raise by climbing Mount Kilimanjaro.

As TV personality Nick Hancock and Stoke City boss Tony Pulis prepare to scale Africa's highest peak for the Donna Louise Children's Hospice Trust in May, the charity is arranging another challenge in June.

The Trentham Lakes-based charity has 20 places up for grabs for people to go on the trek between June 12 and 20.

Staff there hope the event will help raise enough money for the hospice to open its doors seven days a week.

Melanie Mills, hospice head of fund-raising, said: "A little more than a year ago, the hospice had to close its doors two nights a week due to funding shortages due to the economic downturn.

"It is so important we are able to provide this vital service seven days a week."

Trekkers need to raise at least £3,750 to take part.
