Mother Town update is set to be revealed
MAJOR plans to transform a town centre should finally be revealed this month.
Members of Burslem Regeneration Company (BRC) have been drawing up yet another vision for the Mother Town.
Traders, shoppers and residents should see the latest ideas at consultation events this month.
Burslem Regeneration manager Julian Read said: "The business and delivery plan will build on the previous master planning work.
"Once it has been approved by regeneration partners, we will look to implement the proposals, making Burslem town centre the vibrant, attractive and prosperous place it should be."
The plan will look at improving landmark buildings, including Ceramica, the indoor market, the Wedgwood Institute and the Queen's Theatre.
It is hoped work will start next year and the programme will be completed by 2016.
The progress comes as BRC chairman Hugh Edwards stressed the organisation has started to "shoulder its responsibilities".
Mr Edwards said: "The impact of the credit crunch does make the world a bleaker place with new, but empty, homes looking for owners.
"The important point is that, behind the scenes, a great deal is happening.
"The jigsaw of land leading to the extension of the Burslem bypass is well under way, the Mother Town master plan has been updated and approved, and schemes for the Wedgwood Institute and the town centre, including the indoor market, are being put together.
"It can be a long and difficult process to apply for grants for public projects to improve the environment for local residents, but we shall succeed."
