Modern fresh home complete with a real treat for gardeners
B Y some happy quirk of fate there is a gap in the houses opposite Chris and Linda Denham's home and it affords them the most magnificent view stretching for miles.
The vista is just one of the reasons why they bought it 42 years ago and why they have been happy here ever since.
Chris says: "I was working with the lady who used to live here before and I bought it off her and the reasons why I did are as valid today as they were then.
"We have great views, it's a lovely size, the garden is nice and it's in a perfect place. We have not regretted living here for one single day.''

Their home at Barber Road, Chell, is just moments from both the Tunstall by-pass and High Lane so has excellent transport links but is actually very quiet and being set up above the road only makes that quieter.
The couple have kept their home in immaculate condition and it is a credit to them. It has been extensively modernised and improved over the years and they have spent quite a lot of money on it. Not one room feels or looks dated and it has a freshness that could be surprising given that Chris and Linda have lived here for so long.
The entrance hall has an oak floor and useful under stairs storage and leads into the through lounge/diner. This has a lovely light lounge at the front with a feature fireplace housing a living flame gas fire with tiled inset and hearth and behind the dining area has room enough for six people and a nice view of the terraced garden.
Chris says: "There used to be just a lawn sloping down but we have terraced it and it is now on different levels. It's much more interesting and is a lovely garden.''
Next to this is the kitchen which is nice and light from dual aspect windows and is fitted with base and wall cupboards, a built in oven and fridge/freezer, plumbing for a washing machine and this is where you will find the combi boiler too. A door leads out to the garden.
Upstairs are three good sized bedrooms, the two doubles having fitted wardrobes.
And of course, from the front bedroom you do get that amazing view created by the gap in the row of houses opposite and Chris says you can look over as far as Chesterton – not bad from Chell.
The bathroom is also in immaculate condition with a three piece suite in white and a shower over the bath and it looks as if it was put in yesterday. It wasn't, as it happens, but it looks that way. I have been in showhomes that are not as well presented as this house.
Outside there is a low maintenance garden at the front with paving and gravel as well as shrubs and at the back there is a gardener's delight.
It is terraced into a few levels and starts with a paved patio area at the back of the house with steps leading up to a lawn with gravelled borders incorporating shrubs, paved patio and steps leading to a further lawned garden with gravelled borders incorporating plants. It has a water feature, shed and security lighting and is so much more interesting than just a plain lawn.
Chris says: "I've only ever had one job, one wife and one house and I am very happy with them all.''
