Missing man is safe and well
A MAJOR police operation was launched following the disappearance of a 49-year-old man.
The alarm was raised at 2am yesterday after the man was reported missing from his Harriseahead home.
There were fears that the man, who has not been named, could try to injure himself.
Staffordshire Police brought in the force helicopter and used dogs in the hunt.
They also brought in volunteers from Staffordshire Search and Rescue.
Residents saw police cars around the village throughout yesterday morning and a marked car was parked in Biddulph Road.
But the search was called off at around 4pm yesterday after the man was found.
A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: "The man has now been found safe and well."
