Who will be Miss Staffordshire? (PICS)
FINALISTS of the first Miss Staffordshire beauty pageant are campaigning for votes to help see them through to the next stage of a national modelling competition.
The 19 hopefuls contesting to be Miss Staffordshire 2009 are relying on a public vote to progress to the Miss England 2009 semi-finals.

The 10 contestants with the most votes on Friday, May 22, at noon, will be put forward to a panel of judges, including the reigning Miss England, Laura Coleman.
The chosen Miss Staffordshire will then advance to the national semi-final at Champneys Springs on June 8.
Finalist Natalie Ede, from Mosley Drive, Uttoxeter, hopes the competition will help her pursue a career in modelling.
The 18-year old said: "It gives you more confidence and for me it's about getting experience."
Natalie, who has a contract with Models Direct, is even more driven by her second place position - just two votes keeping her from the top spot.
She added: "People tell me it's something good to happen to someone in my town for once, instead of all the bad things. So it's nice that people have supported me."
Another hopeful, Emma Strawford, from Ashford Street, Shelton, believes she has the determination to win.
The 19-year-old Staffordshire University student, who is currently in fifth place, said: "I would like more people to vote who don't necessarily know me.
"It's something I have always liked to do and it would be a great experience."
Both the girls are using social networking site Facebook to drum up support. Natalie said: "It's made it so much easier to talk to people and get them to vote."
Angie Beasley, national director of Miss England 2009, is hoping that the first Miss Staffordshire competition will lead to an annual competition.
She said: "The standard of the girls we've seen from Staffordshire is very high and there are potential winners here. It's not enough to be pretty to win the competition any more.
"This year we've had a medical student who's training to be a doctor, a police officer, someone who's joining the Army and another the RAF."
