DRIVING IT HOME: Young motorists were advised on how to stay safe on the roads – with the aid of a show of military vehicles.

Staffordshire Police teamed up with local authorities to host Driving – The Road To Success at Moorside High School, Cellarhead, yesterday.

As well as the police's Road Crime Team, representatives of Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service and the Department of Transport were on hand, as well as Community First Responders, the AA and the Institute of Advanced Motorists.

Demonstrations were staged for young drivers and their families.

John Arnold, chairman of the Werrington Locality Action Group, said: "By attending this event, new motorists picked up lots of good advice about how to stay safe while enjoying driving."
