Mechanic has hand injuries
A MECHANIC suffered a serious hand injury after becoming trapped in the drive mechanism of a 4x4 he was fixing.
The man was called out to the vehicle in the car park of Stoke-on-Trent College's Burslem Campus.
He was working on the car with another man at about 9.50pm on Tuesday when he became trapped. The 32-year-old, believed to work for Mansfield Rescue and Recovery, was freed by firefighters. A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "He was taken to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire where it was likely that he would require specialist orthopaedics."
