Mayor frustrated by lack of talks on sorting office
A TOWN mayor has told of his frustration over controversial plans to close a postal sorting office.
Kyle Robinson, who is mayor of Kidsgrove, says Royal Mail have not responded to his calls for consultation over the proposal.
Royal Mail is set to close Kidsgrove Sorting Office, which would leave customers having to make a 13-mile round trip to Knutton to pick up undelivered packages.
Councillor Robinson said: "Royal Mail don't seem interested in consultation and I am getting quite annoyed at their lack of response over the closure of the sorting office

"Most town councillors are still standing by their pledge to try and save it. It just seems like everything is closing down in our town and no matter what we do or who we turn to nothing is being saved."
Royal Mail is still consulting with the Communications Workers Union on a proposal to relocate the Kidsgrove Delivery Office to Newcastle.
