TEENAGERS are taking on police in a friendly game of football.

The match has been organised by Chell Heath Residents' Association as a way of building bridges with youths in the area.

The team which will take on a Staffordshire Police eleven on Saturday will be made up entirely of teenagers aged 16 to 19 years old.

Residents' association chairman Jim Gibson said: "I asked the police some time ago if they would play the young lads on the estate.

"We want to show the lads the police are not just a uniform, there's a human being inside and there's no need to be intimidated by them.

"The only people who are afraid of police are those who have done something wrong."

The match takes place on Saturday, on Springbank football pitches, at 11am.
