Man jailed for sex with a girl

MICHAEL Reynolds has been jailed after he had sex with a girl.

The 29-year-old had unprotected sex with the teenager at a secluded spot, Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court heard yesterday.

Prosecutor Neil Ahuja said the victim became upset during a car journey.

Mr Ahuja said: "The conversation turned to sexual matters.

"The defendant discussed his own sex life."

He said Reynolds took the teenager to a secluded lay-by and lent towards the girl to kiss her. She kissed him back.

He added: "He became worried when a car drove past and he took her to a more secluded location."

The court heard the pair got out the vehicle and had sex.

Mr Ahuja added: "He told her the incident would have to go to the grave with her, or something serious would happen otherwise."

Reynolds, of Lydford Place, Weston Coyney, pleaded guilty to sexual activity with a child.

Peter McCartney, mitigating, said: "He describes the offence as the biggest mistake of his life."

Judge Paul Glenn jailed Reynolds for 20 months. He will be on the sex offenders' register for 10 years and was disqualified from working with children indefinitely.

"You had consensual sex and told her to keep quiet," said the judge.
