Man in court over threats
AN ANIMAL rights campaigner is due to appear before magistrates today accused of blackmail.
Robert Griffiths, of Kingsfield Oval, Basford, and another man are accused of conspiracy to blackmail.
They were arrested and taken to a police station in Oxford, where they were jointly charged last night.
The 59-year-old will appear at Oxford City Magistrates' Court today, along with Robert Lewis, aged 62, of Pheasant Road, Trebanos, Swansea.
A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said the charges related to a number of offences across the country in which threatening letters were sent to companies linked to drug testing, as well as to their business partners and employees.
