FAILED asylum seeker Yusuf Kahraman will appear at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Monday charged with possessing false documents with intent.

The 36-year-old Turkish national, of Church Street, Stone, faces an allegation that on February 18 at Stone, with the intention of using an identity document for establishing registerable facts about himself, he had in his possession or under his control documents, namely a Bulgarian passport and identity card and a driving licence that were false and he knew or believed to be false.

There was no application for bail and the defendant was remanded in custody.
