A MAN was arrested and two received warnings after police raided five houses yesterday.

Officers from Tunstall Policing Unit and Staffordshire Police's Tactical Support Group executed warrants in Ball Green and Norton under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

The raids followed concerns of drug misuse and anti-social behaviour raised by residents.

A 27-year-old man from Pinfold Avenue, Norton, was arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis with intent to supply.

Two other men, both aged in their 20s, were given warnings for the use of cannabis.

Other houses targeted were in Mallorie Road, Norton, and Hesketh Avenue, Williamson Avenue, and Dale Avenue, all in Ball Green.

Inspector Mark Hardern, commander of Tunstall Neighbourhood Policing Unit (NPU), said: "We will continue to act on information received concerning drugs misuse. The message to those involved is all too clear – you will be caught and dealt with."

The raids were conducted under Operation Nemesis, the force's ongoing campaign to tackle drug dealers.
