Little Chell woman dies three weeks after Tunstall crash

A WOMAN has died in hospital- three weeks after being involved in a crash in Tunstall.

Kathleen Brennan, aged 71, from Stross Avenue, Little Chell, was taken to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire on the morning of December 31 after the car she was in struck a lamppost on Greenbank Road.

She died as a result of her injuries last Friday, Staffordshire Police said today.

In a statement her family said: “We wish to thank everyone for their support, concern and prayers, during this difficult and traumatic time. We would also like to thank the staff of ward 227 for the care given to our much loved sister and auntie.”

The driver of the car, a blue Vauxhall Corsa, was also taken to hospital.

The 76-year-old woman, from Stoke-on-Trent, suffered minor injuries and was released a short time later.

Sgt Ian Revans, investigating officer, said: “We have spoken to a number of witnesses who came forward after the collision but would like to hear from anyone who hasn’t already contacted us."

Witnesses are asked to contact Staffordshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 182 of December 31.
