BIRD BRAINS: Bird lovers can make a box for their feathered friends at a park this weekend.

The free event is being held at Burslem Park under the supervision of bird expert Dave Butler, who will be giving tips. The boxes can also be made for bats.

Visitors can take guided walks and hear about what birds they are likely to come across in their gardens.

Mike Watson, aged 65, of Moorland Road, pictured, who is helping to organise the event on behalf of the Burslem Park Partnership, said: "It's one of the many events for families which we put on at the park. It should be a good day out."

The event is on Sunday between 10am and 12.30pm. All the equipment and tools will be provided.

Call Mr Watson on 07890 966290 for a place. Booking is essential.
