A PUB which wants to open until 1.30pm every night is to have its licence considered tomorrow.

Ideal Pub Company has applied for the later opening at The Albert Inn, in Bilton Street, Stoke.

The pub is currently open until 12.30am Monday to Saturday, and midnight on Sunday.

But the chain now wants to serve alcohol until 1am every night and stay open until 1.30am.

Members of Stoke-on-Trent City Council's licensing sub-committee will rule on the application at a meeting after receiving an objection on behalf of a Bilton Street resident.

The resident has complained about car doors banging late at night and taxis turning up at all hours.

A letter to the council states: "This is bad enough when it happens at midnight, but to have it happening in the early hours of the morning is just not fair to the residents."
