Ladies do their bit for charity!!!!!!!!!!
2 ladies who met via a social networking site...got together to make a calendar girl style calendar for Sots Soldiers off the streets. They used local places of interest to take their pics. Including Cheddleon station and The Black Lion pub at consall forge. As well as places in Devon The calendar will be released on the 24th June 2012.
The ladies who make up the calendar are all friends of Jackie Swarbrick-Silver, the instigator of the calendar. Jackie used to work with homeless people in Exeter, and was surprised and saddened by the number of ex-service personnel who came through the door, all with their own stories to tell...or not. Jackie became aware of the charity Soldiers off the Street, who have outreach vans and actually go and find ex-servicemen and women who are homeless and help them, not only with housing but also with many other issues they have. Jackie was impressed with the organisation and offered to create a 'military pin up' calendar to sell to raise funds for them. She then asked like minded friends if they would like to feature in the calendar, and it all went from there. Jackie's husband Scott, and John Taylor (husband of Chrissy, one of the Dumplings) have taken all the photographs. John and Chrissy are both from newcastle-under-lyme. Chloe Taylor , John and Chrissy,s daughter also appears in the calendar

“@Goach, several degrees you say, such a shame you did not take a foundation course in manners and etiquette. There are men and women fighting and indeed dying to allow you to have your right of free speech within the bounds of the law. I choose to believe that your ramblings are nothing more than the utterings of an objectionable oik! Well done ladies, keep up the good work. What have you done to be proud of yourself today Goach? God Save The Queen!”

“Well done ladies for giving up your time for free to raise money in this age of financial tightness. I wish you all the best in raising money.
I think Goach the moment you lost the people who have read your comment was this line:
"Judging by the women in the picture they should release it in time for Halloween probably sell more"
I do feel, and this is a personal view on this, that was a lot shot at some ladies you don't know and only judge on looks and what you have read. I do sympathise on your loss of your child a few years back but I know a lovely couple who lost their child within 48 hours of the delivery of their child.
It may not be the most origional idea however, it is proven that these types of calendars do sell and get money in for charity.
Well done to all the ladies yet again.”

“Goach ...... i personally think you are to easy to judge these ladies, yes the calendar thing has been done several times but has worked each time.
These ladies have worked hard to support a charity which is close to themselves and people they care about so why shouldnt they without people like yourself pointing your finger.
Has for their appearances.......no, they are not all size zero, thank god and no theyre not all 18 years old. Beauty comes in all shapes, ages and sizes, i personally think its takes balls to get infront of a camera and know that not everyone is going to think you look stunning but hey as i say it takes balls, now where im going from MR.
Good on you ladies, keep up the good work and i hope you manage to raise plenty for such a good cause.”

“To answer your question are you thick man? Actually no, I have several degrees in things from law to computing and run a successful business, but then it is easy to label people you don't even know isn't it, that makes you the stupid one. All I pointed out was that this particular thing as been done several times. You are right though people do tend to support charities that are close to their hearts as on this occasion because someone was effected through their work, there is always the element that gives someone the compulsion to support a particular charity or charities.”

“@Goach
Are you thick man????!!!!!!!!!!!..............already over a £1000 pounds has been raised....before the calendar has even gone to print. The idea of this article. Is to raise awarness...and get people interested in the charity.....NOTHING MORE.....
Lots of us raise money for charity...when it affects us personally. As you did.
But ,how many of us ,get off our backsides and go a support a charity, that does not directley effect them.
If this calendar...supports just one homeless ex-serviceman. Then the goal, will have been acheived.”

“Sticks and stones hey - a few years ago when we lost a child, we raised over five thousand pounds for the neo natal department of the then maternity unit at hartshil and also through my business I contribute to charity on a regular basis. Just because everybody doesn't shout about it in the paper doesn't mean they don't do their bit for charity.”
